K-Doe became one of New Orleans R&B’s most colorful personalities, known for his voice, showmanship, and 1961 hit “Mother-in-Law.” His life and career were deeply tied to the sound, humor, and performance culture of New Orleans music.
Shirley Goodman

R&B singer, Shirley & Lee member, disco vocalist, and New Orleans music figure.
Goodman first rose to fame as part of the duo Shirley & Lee, whose records helped shape New Orleans R&B. She later reached a new generation through Shirley & Company’s disco hit “Shame, Shame, Shame,” showing her range across eras of Black popular music.
