Paul Laurence Dunbar was one of the first Black American writers to gain national recognition and make a serious living through literature. Taimak Guarriello, known professionally as Taimak, became a cult favorite for playing Leroy Green, also known as “Bruce Leroy,” in The Last Dragon. His career connects martial arts, 1980s Black film culture, Motown-produced cinema, and a character who still holds nostalgic power for many fans.
